E il giorno seguente Saulle dispose il popolo in tre schiere; e quelle entrarono dentro al campo in su la veglia della mattina, e percossero gli Ammoniti, finchè il dì fu riscaldato. E avvenne che coloro che scamparono furono dispersi qua e là, e non ne rimase di loro due insieme.

Besoknya, pagi-pagi, Saul membagi orang-orangnya menjadi tiga pasukan. Dan ketika fajar menyingsing mereka menyerbu ke tengah-tengah perkemahan orang Amon itu dan menyerang mereka. Sebelum tengah hari, tentara Saul telah mengalahkan musuh. Orang-orang Amon yang berhasil lolos, tercerai-berai sehingga tak ada dua orang yang dapat lari bersama-sama.

Keesokan harinya Saul membagi rakyat itu menjadi tiga pasukan. Mereka itu masuk ke tengah-tengah perkemahan musuh pada waktu kawal pagi dan memukul kalah orang-orang Amon sebelum hari panas; dan terserak-seraklah orang-orang yang lolos itu, sehingga di antara mereka tidak ada tinggal dua orang bersama-sama.
