Raja Zedekia memberi perintah, lalu orang menahan Yeremia di pelataran penjagaan dan memberikan setiap hari kepadanya sepotong roti dari jalan tukang roti, sampai pada waktu segala roti habis di kota itu. Demikianlah Yeremia tinggal di pelataran penjagaan itu.
